Project's Summary:
The BioBOND project aims to promote sustainable urban transformation by strengthening cooperation between European towns and local communities. Implemented under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme, within the Town Twinning action, the project focuses on greener, more resilient and more inclusive urban spaces.
It brings together partner organisations from Greece, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria and Serbia, creating opportunities for municipalities, local authorities, civil society organisations, youth representatives and citizens to exchange knowledge and good practices. BioBOND addresses key themes such as climate adaptation, biodiversity protection, eco-friendly public spaces, civic participation and inclusive local governance.
A central activity of the project was the three-day BioBOND Town Twinning event held in Greece from 5 to 7 May 2026. The event created a space for participants to explore European policy frameworks, exchange local experiences and discuss practical approaches for sustainable urban development.
BioBOND highlights the importance of connecting European priorities with local action, showing how communities can work together to respond to shared environmental and social challenges. The project contributes to stronger cross-border cooperation, greater awareness of sustainable urban policies and a shared commitment to building greener, more inclusive and more resilient European cities.
